Nobel Peace Prize became a political tool of Western

RIA Novosti October 8 published an article signed by it's political observers Nicholas Troy Nowitzki that the Nobel Peace Prize became a political tool of the West. The following summary of the article:

Awarded the Nobel Prize in 2010 just to catch up two days of memorable day. 35 years ago, on October 9, Academician Andrei Sakharov was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. 20 years ago, on Oct. 15, the Soviet Union's first and last president Mikhail Gorbachev was awarded the same prize.

Sakharov year as this year, a dissident and praise, he is China's Liu Xiaobo. Liu is difficult to accept the award because he has just begun 11 years in prison on charges of "inciting subversion of state power." It can be said, history is repeating itself. Sakharov was no opportunity to Oslo to accept the award in person.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has completed 15 years at first praised the Soviet Union from the dissident section of track to compliment the CPSU Central Committee General Secretary, and then traveled around the world, went back to support the United Nations Security Council permanent members, "a champion for basic human rights "The origin, and these countries do not always agree with the concept of Western democracy.

This behavior seems roundabout forces actually reflects a policy of following a firm. Members can make their own judgments. Awards Sakharov Award from Mikhail Gorbachev to show that the interaction with others is not a member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee's attitude changed, but significant changes occurred in international politics. The Soviet Union from the Cold War enemy, the western competitors and constructive and willing to compromise partners, and meekly withdrew from Eastern Europe. Gorbachev advocates is precisely this withdrawal, the Berlin Wall just collapsed, so he found the reward object.

Established by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Parliament Why should there be five wise men do? As originally conceived, they should be divorced from international politics and the eternal value of human beings concerned only with the authority of council bodies. Nobel's will in their own, wrote for the Peace Prize should be awarded the unity of all peoples, the eradication of slavery, to reduce the number of troops to reach a peace agreement and the promotion of people who make a significant contribution.

However, these abstract areas unable to withstand the harsh reality of the collision. Nobel Peace Prize has always been politicized to the extreme. Award masters of the trade-offs and preferences determined by U.S., NATO and Western Europe's attitude. Easy to find examples in this regard, see Liu previous three winners would be sufficient.

Hi, China Military!

If the Nobel Peace Prize was a political tool, I don't think it would have been given to Liu Xiaobo. Norwegian newspapers now write about rumors of our politicians trying to convince the Nobel Committee not to give him the Prize:

Some people seem to think the west is trying to insult China. But why would we do that? What is the political wisdom of damaging the relations between our countries?

If I am wrong, and the price is a political tool, can you give me a reason to give it to Liu Xiaobo, and cause all this trouble? If it is not to encourage continued development of human rights, like freedom of speech, then why do it? Do you think the people in the Committee are trying to “keep China down and control them with democracy”?

China seems to think that it does not concern the rest of the world what it does to its citizens. But in telling the Norwegian government to control the Nobel Committee, and who they proclaim to be the winner, I see an attempt to limit the freedom of speech of the people in Norway.

If this is how China plans to use its newfound power - to extend the political system (which has caused so much suffering in China) to the rest of the world, then that scares me.

What do you think?

Which country in the world has absolute freedom of speech?...Norway?
Say something improper to your next door neighbor and he might take you to court ! Does not a state have that right? The difference is some states give you more space and others less.
You said that China is extending its political system to the rest of
the world. Actually I don't see
this as true and you submit no evidence to support this serious allegation.

It's not an allegation, it's a supposition... a 假想. Just look at the "if".

Anyway, don't be so serious;) Because I wasn't looking for an argument. I just want to know this: What do Chinese people think was the real reason why Liu was given the prize?

Btw, it's Americans that sue each other all the time. It's not like that in other countries. And they don't sue each other for having a different opinions.

If you stand in the perspective of politicians, you might understand why western countries to treat China like it.

We Chinese people have a bad quality, that is, the pain is forgotten. Your pardon! why did so many Western countries to boycott the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, is this the Olympic spirit? Do not say no more! All of this boils down to one point, that is, Western countries can not tolerate a strong China. This is a mainstream view in China.
